As some of you know, Chris and I joined a Kung Fu school about 6 weeks ago. The name of the school is Wah Lum Kung Fu. The style is Northern Praying Mantis Style. We go 4 days a week and love it. It is fun exercise with a purpose. Since both of us have been athletic in the past, it is nice to be able to enjoy a serious sport as we get older.
Although I was a gymnast for quite some time (about 11 years), and have taken kickboxing in the past (for a very short time), Kung Fu, although consisting of a lot of kicking, punching and acrobatics, is so very different from gymnastics and kickboxing. I couldn't even get the "Kung Fu" forward roll right! We really enjoy that despite our backgrounds, it is different than anything we have done in the past and every day we are sore in spots we did not realize we even had a muscle.
At anyrate, things around the Marot household are going well. We are quickly approaching our first year anniversary. We were thinking of having a luau to celebrate as a rememberance of the pre-wedding party we had last year. I guess we still have not really decided though. A lot of people will be in town that weekend as a coincidence, so I am thinking of at least having some sort of get together. All I can say at this point is "stay tuned."
Also, Chris and I have been very busy this year with something to do almost every weekend. Unfortunately, we have been big slackers as far as taking pictures of the events. Since I started this blog, however, I am committed to taking pictures and video from this point forth and posting them on this site, so, be on the look out.
