New Year and New Born

Hi, Mom and Dad, it's a BABY!!!

We wanted to surprise my parents via our blog that we will be expecting another bundle sometime in January! This is because my Mom always looks at our blog for updates and since we waited to tell them, I thought it would be a great surprise this way! Congrats Grandma and Grandpa!

I am currently at 11-12 weeks (these ultrasound pictures are at about 8.5 weeks). The ultrasound showed a very healthy baby with a slightly bigger than average CRL and if I remember correctly, 168 HR (much faster than Cole's - although his was measured at 118 at 6.5 weeks). I do have the grueling all day long sickness like last time, but since the first trimester is nearing an end, I am able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I think knowing what reward awaits me at the end of the pregnancy (a baby!) also makes it that much easier. Oh yeah, and I am showing a little bit already. Just like last time, I popped out about 11 weeks (I remember people saying "sure there aren't twins in there?").

Since we are heading to Utah for a few weeks this Sunday or Monday, my next ultrasound will be when we get back. Stay tuned!

Git ta Steppin' !

Hey All, Cole took his first series of legit steps today. In only the last couple of days, he has been able to stand by himself for several seconds, so I tried it again with him today when he took about 5 timid steps forward! I was NOT expecting him to do that today, so I didn't get it on camera....DARN IT! Anyway, I was really proud of him and he looked so cute when he was trying really hard to balance himself and take his steps...aaaaawwwwwwwwww!

Stand and Be Free

Cole's standing skills are beginning to emerge. I haven't been able to catch it on camera because the longest I've seen him stand independently is about 30 seconds. It started out with trying to push to a stand against Buddy but Cole didn't want to put too much weight on him for some reason and when he got to a stand with Buddy sitting next to him, Cole just stood there batting at Buddy's ear for about half of a minute. Today he wanted to play in the garbage can but I was trying to clean it so I took his hands off and he just stood there while I cleaned. Chris was also trying to get him to stand - and he did and Cole even took a step. So far with walking, he will walk with a walker that he stands behind and can push around and he will walk a short distance when you're holding one of his hands. My feeling is that he probably can walk a little, but has zero reason to do so when he can almost run on all fours like a bear and get everywhere really fast...not sure how we compete with that without inserting some peer pressure ;D

Fadda's Day

For Father's Day, we went boating and hung out on this sandbar that everyone goes to with their boats. We grilled out burgers there and the baby followed up with a lot of sand for dessert. When we got home we took a fresh water dip in the pool.

The Classics

So, I haven't posted lately because of technical difficulties with my camera, etc. I am starting to think it is because my son, or maybe I should say Chris' son, has an unhealthy obsession with all things techy in our household. In fact, most of the technology in our house has been on the fritz since Cole has been able to cruise the furniture. I almost used the title "tech toddler," but the last picture wouldn't have fit and since these are pretty typical of most kids, the word "classic" came to mind. So here it is, Cole "in vivo."

wire chewing gives me a fun jolt every now and then...

hafta do what Dads's doing..especially when it's to do with techy gadgets...

except look at these fun buttons, I'll just go ahead and take care of pushing these while he's busy

this is Cole getting really irritated at Chris for keeping him away from his computer...gadget related fits happen 235 times a day

this memory stick adaptor is the perfect size for my mouth hole and really small so I can find a nice hiding spot for it later

i thought you were doing the laundry!

a "no picture" update

Hi All,

I havent posted in a while because for some reason my computer doesnt want to accept pictures from my memory stick and I usually like posting with pictures.

So the latest without pictures is that Cole is in swim lessons called ISR. He can float on his back independently after only 3 - 10 minute sessions. Its crazy to me that he will probably swim before he walks.

Another thing is that we shaved Buddy .... his shedding was out of control and driving us mad. So - off with the hair! He doesn't look bad, but that shiny part of the hair is gone and the dull part is left. We also discovered he is definitely not overweight :D

Chris is enjoying his new career as a partner in an engineering company and I am still enjoying being home with Cole.

I promise to post more when I resolve the picture issue!
